What are the advantages of dispersion effect?
|
| Longly® Machinery customers know from experience that the dispersion effect has several advantages. Firstly, refine the size of solid particles suspension to provide paint, ink etc with smoother surface, better reflectance, gloss and hiding power. Secondly, increase the surface area of suspension particles to speed up reaction with better uniformity such as additives in resin and reaction of powdered chemical materials. The third, prolong suspension time to yield better performance and stability, e.g. increase diffuse acreage to prolong pharmacodynamic of water dispersible pesticide, etc. |

The dispersion is an important work in chemical industries especially the manufacturing of paint, ink, dyestuff, pigment, etc. The major function of dispersion is to disperse particles to liquid medium, which generally includes 3 stages:
Wetting - the air absorbed by the surface of solid particles is replaced by liquid.
Grinding - to grind the agglomerated particles into original particles by using sand mill machine.
Dispersion - is to move the wetted original particles into liquid medium, by using the interfacing chemical property to create the lasting particle segregation.
Traditionlly dispersion has been constantly taking by three roller mill or ball mill. In 1952, Du Pont led dispersion processing into a new area by introducing their high performance grinding system, vertical sand mill. By 1966, European scientist modified it by maintaining its merits to develop a horizontal sand mill. It eliminates the difficulty of changing color and beads sinking down to the bottom. The beads filled up to 70-85%. The distribution of beads is more unification, that greatly uprises the dispersion efficiency, moreover, no pollution, energy saving, low noise, easy to change color and suitable for viscosity of 80Kµ to 120Kµ. The horizontal sand mill became a major role in dispersion work since 80's of last century. 1. Continuous process provides greater production capcity. The production capacity will be twice greater than vertical sand mill and 3 times to common roller mill. The feeding capacity can be controlled by a switch of the variable speed pump.
2. Provides highest dispersion efficiency. The grinding media is filled up 70-85% volume of grinding chamber. Higher collision rate of grinding media(e.g. glass beads or zirconium beads, etc) created in well designed construction. Providing fine quality only in a second.

EXCELLENT CONSTRUCTION - EASY OPERATION AND SERVICING
1. Feeding & discharging through the top of the grinding chamber allows the material to be sufficiently ground and avoids dead angle.

2. Self-cleaning, durable dynamical gap dispersing unit with high-speed rotors ensures smooth running of grinding beads (namely grinding media), bringing a sound dispersion effect. | |

3. If colors need be changed or different materials need be mixed frequently, solvent drain valve and dismantling rail can be used to easily remove residues from the grinding chamber or to replace grinding media. |
